ADT engineers redesigned an existing blood pump for more pressure rise for Acute Decompensated Heart Failure (ADHF) treatment application.

This project carried out by ADT is for a leading pump manufacturer in the world. The main aim is to produce a new pump design that can deliver class leading efficiency. The optimization process is required to cover all the stage components such as impeller, volute with a splitter/cut-water, pump out vanes (POV) and balance holes (BH) to maximize the performance. 

The design of the compressor aims to cover a wide operation range. A ‘back-to-back’ configuration is therefore selected considering its advantage on performance range.

The customer, one of the world’s leading HVAC manufacturers, required the design of a new range of chillers using R1234ze(E) refrigerant. The chiller uses a 2-stage in-line compressor. Both compressors and the return channel need to be designed.

In this consultancy, ADT engineers were asked to develop a high performance, 3-stage axial LP turbine in a very short time frame to help win a competitive bidding process.

ADT engineers carried out a project to optimize a fuel pump impeller for cavitation and efficiency. The main challenge was to meet targets at multiple operating conditions.

The aim for this project was to design a refrigeration compressor stage using R134a to improve performance of the entire stage (impeller, vaneless diffuser and volute) and to meet various flow rates and pressure ratio requirements by trimming the impeller.

Create an optimized, high-efficiency design of a radial-inflow turbine for organic rankine cycle

The scope of this project was the detailed design of a hydraulic turbocharger composed by a pump and a radial inflow turbine for energy recovery in a reverse osmosis desalination plant.
